A Pair of Detentions Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
