Assassin's Creed Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that breaks usual expectations, the game developer has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Uncovered
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious meeting pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of forbidden practices and fearsome changes echo through the darkness." The storyline presents a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret cult.
The mission centers on "peculiar tests and a monstrous foe" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses
The trailer highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser concludes with a striking sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Content
Players who finish the quest will receive an special katana in addition to numerous objects concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's latest free story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic abilities: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns.
