Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard courts

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, managing just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - caused him falling of the top ten and finally parting ways with former coach Cervara.

Now collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first trophy following the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt after that period of 2023.

Victory also means he has won 21 titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to win a title is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six title deciders, comprising in that event in the past months.

His retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on court had prompted commentators to wonder if his capacity to compete at the elite level was over.

However the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serve.

Medvedev recovered from a break down in the initial set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to push for a final set.

Moutet rescued four initial chances in a tight final set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.

Suitably, he secured victory with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
